Since the end of last year, we have been helping the mission coordinate a small short-term mission team to help move the construction of the workshop at the mission facility along.
Levi worked at the mission facility to prepare the site for the mission team.
Meanwhile, back in the United States, Rich Johnson and Pastor Ross Gall made plans to serve with Sharing His Plan for two weeks at the end of February.
On February 24th the mission team arrived and went straight to work. Of course, our plans did not go as expected, but God had better plans.
The truck that carries the concrete mixer to the mission base encountered a mechanical problem. As a result, the mixer was loaded onto the pickup truck of the owner of the truck parking lot. Pastor Ross accompanied the owner of the parking lot in their vehicle as we followed them to the mission base. The journey took around 35 minutes, during which the owner shared his insights on missions in Guatemala with Pastor Ross. It was clear that this conversation was meant to happen as nothing is a coincidence in God’s plan.
Aside from the first day, the work progressed very well. There were no injuries and we accomplished a substantial amount compared to what we would do by ourselves.
The mission team finished strong. Not only was work done that we needed, but some planning was accomplished to help speed up the construction process. We are very grateful to Rich, Ross, and their families for following the call. Rich and Ross put their hearts into the not just the work here, but the people we are serving.
